Food you can trust
Welcome to Sevananda Natural Foods Market. Since 1974, our consumer-owned natural foods market, has provided quality whole foods to shoppers and members in Atlanta and surrounding cities throughout Georgia. Our fresh market is owned and operated by our members and provides a natural source of healthy, local, and organic foods to the local community.
Sevananda is proud to support local farmers and businesses by selling local organic food, including seasonal produce, natural groceries, bulk herbs and spices, and other specialty health and wellness products in high demand.
Our Mission
Sevananda’s mission is to empower the community to improve its health and well being.
We accomplish this mission through:
Facilitating the democratic participation of our membership;
Providing natural and organic foods, and other environmentally sound products, to the Atlanta area and beyond;
Providing education on cooperative principles, personal health, environmental conservation and consumer issues;
Establishing beneficial relationships with the local community and the global cooperative movement.
What is Co-op
A cooperative is a special form of business owned and managed by the people who provide and/or use its goods and services. Resources are pooled to satisfy a common goal as economically and efficiently as possible.
- As a locally-owned business, a co-op is committed to the people and the community it serves. Member Owners have a voice in what is available for purchase, as well as in the overall organization of their particular co-op.
- Member Owners get the most buying power for their money, and the money stays in the community, contributing to its economic strength.
- At Sevananda Natural Foods Market Member Owners literally own the store, so membership benefits are much more than just the discount.
